Please Pray for Our City

Hi ladies...it is with a very sad heart that I ask for prayer for the people of Colorado Springs, those elected to be in charge, and the many fire fighters working to prevent the Waldo Canyon Fire from causing anymore catastrophic damage. Many of you have probably seen on the news how this fire has grown from 100 acres to 15,000 acres in four days. Much of the NW section of Colorado Springs has been burned, including many houses, businesses, and historical places. While evacuation orders have not been issued for our neighborhood, I have a feeling (maybe it's mommy intuition) that it may only be a matter of time.

We know our God is bigger than any disaster that can seemingly overwhelm us. This fire does not surprise Him, and He is not sitting back wandering what to do. He has a perfect plan, and I am fully confident that all of this will be to His glory one day. Still, He asks us to come to Him in our time of need, and this is that time for the people of this region.

On a personal note, please pray that I may keep calm and spiritually sound in order to set a good example for our son. We all know too well how our children watch us more than they listen to us. In times of panic, I think it's easy to get caught up in the craziness and forget that we are their whole world. Thank you for your prayers :-)

I want to conclude the post today with this song by Chris Tomlin. Let it be the new anthem for Colorado Springs!

Given the circumstances, I can't promise daily posts. But, be sure to keep checking back. Be blessed, mommies!
